The workspace for private communities

What is Groupanda?

Groupanda is a workspace platform for private online communities. A group owner opens a space with organized channels and real-time chat, sets roles and access control, then shares the group's invite link. Groupanda runs on the web, on iOS and on Android. The free plan sets no member limit, and paid groups add built-in subscriptions.

What can you do with Groupanda?

Groupanda gives a group owner one private workspace instead of a scattered set of tools. Conversation happens in real time, in organized channels, one for each topic. Members can reply to a message in a thread or quote it. Photos, documents and voice messages appear in the channel where they were shared, right next to the conversation. One search covers every channel a member can read. Nothing is deleted automatically.

Access control in Groupanda works at two levels. The workspace decides who is in the community at all. Inside it, each channel is open to every member or limited to the plans the owner chooses. For each channel, the owner also chooses who can post: the owner, the owner and admins, or everyone.

Every Groupanda workspace includes:

  • Real-time chat in organized channels, with threads and quoted replies
  • Public and private groups, with roles and moderation
  • Photos, documents and voice messages, plus message search across every channel you can read
  • One invite link per group, email invites, and optional approval before a member joins

And when a group owner turns on paid access:

  • Built-in subscriptions, so access follows the payment
  • Each member's plan and payment status, plus the owner's Stripe balance (the full payment history stays in the Stripe dashboard)

The full feature list is on the Groupanda features page. The setup order, step by step, is on the how it works page.

Built for private groups

Groupanda is built for group owners who run a private group online, from nonprofits and clubs to professional networks and alumni groups. The page on who Groupanda is for covers the groups it fits and the ones it does not.

What does Groupanda cost?

Groupanda has a free plan at $0 a month, with no time limit, no member limit and no card required. It includes chat, channels, threads, roles, moderation, file sharing, search and the group's invite link.

A group becomes paid when its owner turns on paid access for it. Members then pay for access to the space, and the access follows the payment.

The member pays the price the group owner set. Out of that payment, Groupanda keeps a 6% platform fee. Stripe's processing fee is deducted from the group owner's payout. Nothing is added on top of what the member pays.

The 6% platform fee on paid groups is what pays for the free plan. Groupanda charges no monthly fee and no per-member fee. Groupanda does not publish a Stripe processing rate, because that rate depends on the card and the currency.

Who handles the payments?

Groupanda uses Stripe to take payments in paid groups. Card details are entered on Stripe. Groupanda never receives or stores card numbers, CVV codes or expiry dates. Payouts to group owners run through Stripe Connect. Stripe Connect pays out to the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Norway, Liechtenstein, Canada, and Switzerland.

What Groupanda stores, and for how long, is set out in the Groupanda privacy policy.

Where does Groupanda run?
